Earth and You

It is that time of the year, when we all crave the outdoors and nice weather.  Many of us associate winter with "cabin fever"; because we get antsy and irritable after being stuck indoors for too long.  Being outdoors and in the sun is very beneficial to our health.  Especially if you get the opportunity to ground yourself with the Earth.  This is called Earthing or Grounding... when you walk around barefoot and actually make an electrical current between you and Earth.  Ecotherapy (going outside, spending time in a natural setting) has actually been shown to decrease anxiety and depression as well as fatigue in cancer patients.  It has improved self-esteem, social connections and blood pressure.

When we are in Nature it has an effect of slowing us down.  Mother Nature has a slower pace than our man-made environment, she has a pulse and rhythm.  If you take it all in and observe it you will develop a greater tolerance for slowness, or what we call patience :-) This is beneficial to all of us.  As you know we tend to forget that change takes time, we are so used to instant gratification with our "lightning speed" technologies.  It allows us to get easily frustrated and often times grumpy!  So if we can find that balance and find our patience again we will be happier which will make the people around us happier.

Don't forget getting your regular chiropractic adjustments will keep your body functioning at its greatest potential! It will always work hand in hand with other alternatives to keep you happy and healthy!

Tomorrow is Earth Day.  Take the time to reconnect with mother nature it is good for both you and her :-)
