Transformation Is No Easy Task

Well, so far this eating healthier bit has not been as easy of a transition as the sleeping better.  I have however stopped buying as much "snack" options. So often you open the cupboard and it looks fairly bleak and empty. But my kids complain less, they are getting used to it.  I also have been opting for as much Organic or at least Non GMO  labeled product. I have also been diligent on reading the ingredients on all things and comparing it to the neighbor product on the shelf.  Because often one brand has 'bioengineered ingredients' listed on the bottom and then the next brand does not. I will choose the brand that is not made with bioengineered ingredients. I have noticed more then not the big name brands are the ones that are bioengineered so I often spend less.

I also started trying to be better at limiting the quick easy meals.  And if I do, I get organic frozen ckn tenders. We still have more pizza nights then we really should.  However I have faith in the little steps. Working our way to cleaner, healthier food. Oh I also stopped buying chips and crackers as a snack, I always opted for these because they were less sugar however they are made with horrible oils.  Again when I get chips I have been opting for Organic Tortilla, etc.  And our crackers consist of Saltines. 

My focus right now in this area is to maintain what I have done thus far but focus on having dinner by 6:30/6:45 on the days I work (because I work until 6) but all the other days eat around 5.  I have also been more strict on no eating after 7.  

I tell you being healthier really does take a lot of effort and energy.  It is understandable that so many fail in their attempt to maintain.  But as I have said before, that is why diets don't work.. diets are temporary. We have to make life transformations and changes.  Create our new normal, allowing us to be the best we can be.
